Bosonization in the Noncommutative Plane

چکیده
In this brief note, we study bosonization of the noncommutative massive Thirring model in 2+ 1dimensions. We show that, contrary to the duality between massive Thirring model and Maxwell-Chern-Simons model in ordinary spacetime, in the low energy (or large fermion mass) limit, their noncommutative versions are not equivalent, in the same approximation.

From Noncommutative Bosonization to S-Duality
We extend standard path–integral techniques of bosonization and duality to the setting of noncommutative geometry. We start by constructing the bosonization prescription for a free Dirac fermion living in the noncommutative plane Rθ. We show that in this abelian situation the fermion theory is dual to a noncommutative Wess–Zumino–Witten model. The non–abelian situation is also constructed along...
متن کاملBosonization of the Schwinger Model by Noncommutative Chiral Bosons
Bosonization of the Schwinger model with noncommutative chiral bosons is considered on a spacetime of cylinder topology. Using point splitting regular-ization, manifest gauge invariance is maintained throughout. Physical consequences are discussed.
متن کاملWess - Zumino - Witten and fermion models in noncommutative space
We analyze the connection between Wess-Zumino-Witten and free fermion models in two-dimensional noncommutative space. Starting from the computation of the determinant of the Dirac operator in a gauge field background, we derive the corresponding bosonization recipe studying, as an example, bosonization of the U (N) Thirring model. Concerning the properties of the noncommutative Wess-Zumi-no-Wit...
متن کاملBosonization in higher dimensions via noncommutative field theory.
We propose the bosonization of a many-body fermion theory in D spatial dimensions through a noncommutative field theory on a (2D-1)-dimensional space. This theory leads to a chiral current algebra over the noncommutative space and reproduces the correct perturbative Hilbert space and excitation energies for the fermions. The validity of the method is demonstrated by bosonizing a two-dimensional...
متن کاملNoncommutative Fluids
We review the connection between noncommutative gauge theory, matrix models and fluid mechanical systems. The noncommutative ChernSimons description of the quantum Hall effect and bosonization of collective fermion states are used as specific examples.
